Joe Plant Hill was born September 24, 1881 in Collierville, Tennessee to James Johnson Hill and Sarah Frances Plant Hill. His siblings were: Annie Mae Hill (Oates), Mattie Boyd Hill (Hopkins), Robert Wylie Hill, Lillian Hill (Garrett), Willie Hill, James Johnson Hill, Elma Lee Hill (Clark) and Maxwell Teddy Hill. He married Georgia Caroline McGlaun and they were the parents of three children: Georgia Frotilla Hill, Joe Fontaine Hill and Mary Kalista Hill. He died May 22, 1959 in Temple, Texas.
