Booneville--Douglas Dewey Spencer Sr., 76, died Saturday, Feb. 7,2009, at his home. He was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Booneville to Eugene and Josie Bell Gahgan Spencer. He was a Methodist and a member of Bay Springs Masonic Lodge. Durning his working life, he was a mirror maker and a truck driver for American Glass Distributors in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a ham radio operator. He enjoyed fishing.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Krech officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in the Lake City area in Booneville.

Survivors include one son; Doug Spencer Jr.; two brothers, Luther Spencer (Linda) and Harold Spencer, all of Booneville; two grandchildren, Donald Spencer and Miranda Melson, both of Booneville; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Spencer, Ben Spencer. W.R. Spencer and Joe Spencer, and a sister, Mary E, Hester.

His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
