A victim of Domestic Violence.
Mona was an employee of the Internal Revenue Service and was the mother of one son. Although she was not Hispanic, Mona frequented Spanish speaking bars and met the father of her son there.
She was murdered by her son's Mexican father who then abandoned his own son on the street to flee back to Mexico.
The child was found wandering and asking for "la leche" but was able to tell authorities that his father had left him on the street. At the age of 2, he was the only witness to his own mother's murder.
