HOLLENBERG IN MORNING
On Thursday evening June 23rd, a few of our boys went bathing in the Little Blue at the usual place. Soon after they had gone into the water Dorr Hoxie, trying to swim on his back, became strangled and sank. Guy Henderson, noticing the situation, dove for him. Hoxie seized Henderson with his legs and hands. Henderson made a hard struggle to get both of them out, but as the current was carrying them into deeper water could not do it.

Mr. M. A. Hyland seeing the danger of the two boys rushed to help them. As soon as Mr. Hyland was close enough, Mr. Hoxie clutched him by the neck and Mr. Hyland went down and was seen no more until the bodies were found about one hour later. Henderson being rescued by Lloyd Brown. Many people were summoned to the water where search was begun. Soon the bodies were found.

Dr. W. C. Burnaman was ready to use his best efforts to restore the bodies to life. He worked faithfully until midnight when he knew there was no longer any hope.

The bodies were taken to their respective homes. J. R. Hyland taking charge of the body of his brother.

The funeral of Dorr Hoxie was conducted at Baptist church Friday June 24 at 1:30 p. m. Rev. Veach officiating, using text: "Be ye also ready for you know not the hour when the Son of man cometh." A large crowd of sympathizing friends attended his funeral.
