Funeral services were held for Dorlyn C. "Buddy" Ainsworth, 73, of Lucedale, June 17 2005, at 3 p.m. from First Baptist Church in Benndale.
Interment followed in Williams Cemetery with Rev. Burnice Havard and Rev. Simon Erkhart officiating the services. Pallbearers were Heath Williams, Griffin Williams, Jacobn Williams, Cleston Williams, Nathan Williams, Kelly Caffey, Thomas Moore and Ronnie Martin.
A native of Ellisville, he was born September 15, 1931. He married October 23, 1954 and served in the Air Force for eight years. He was a retired welder from Ingalls Shipbuilding and also retired from the county working on the roads and from the state as a bridgetender.
A member of the First Baptist Church in Benndale, serving as a song leader, singer and musician, he died June 14, 2005.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Minnie (Moore) Ainsworth; four sisters, Leona (Berlyn) Holifield, Maude Mae (Arlie) Davis, Lettie Jewel (Ross) Hodge and Juanita (Robert) Holmes; and a great-granddaughter, Kirsten Havard.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Frances (Kelly) Ainsworth; two daughters, Lorraine (David) Williams and Dorla (Johnny) Runnels, both of Benndale; 11 grandchildren, Christie (Keith) Havard, Heath (April) Williams, Jacob (Carla) Williams, Terri Lyn Williams, Griffin Williams, Nathan Williams, Kelly Caffey and John Robert Caffey, all of Benndale, Elen (Thomas) Moore, Dessie (Ronnie) Martin of Wiggins, and Cleston (Julie) Williams of Gautier; 12 great-grandchildren, Christopher Havard, Christiane Havard, Dusty Moore, Gus Moore, Matthew Williams, Tyler Williams, Lane Williams, Austin Williams, Ashton Williams, Amanda Parks, Amber Martin and Lisa Martin; a sister, Mildred (Charles) Crowell of Benndale and a brother, D. J. "Jim" Ainsworth of Grand Bay, Ala.
