Harriet was the daughter of Jesse Kendrick and Mary Parker. On 8 October 1831 in Lauderdale County, Alabama, she married James F. Ticer. They had the following children in order of birth: Elvira Candace, Amanda Melinda, James Pinkney, Harriet Adelaide, Almira Dorinda, Marshall Hall, and Allen Kendrick.
