MRS. H. J. PETERS DIES WEDNESDAY

PIONEER COUNTY RESIDENT WILL BE BURIED ON THURSDAY

Mrs. Henry J. Peters, 72, a pioneer resident of Comanche County died Wednesday at the family home, eight miles west of Lawton, following a several weeks' illness. Mrs. Peters suffered a stroke of apoplexy some time ago from which she never recovered.

Martha Harriett Clifton was born in Washburn, Bryant County, Wis., December 6, 1857. She moved to Sumner County, Kansas, about 1875 and was married to Henry J. Peters June 11, 1876. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1898 and resided there till April 1902 at which time they moved to a farm eight miles west of Lawton where the family now resides.

Besides her husband, she leaves nine sons and daughters, Mrs. R. E. Pickett and E. E. Peters of Geronimo; Mrs. Glen H. King and Mrs. Porter, who reside near Lawton; A. R. Peters and Miss Myrtle Peters, who reside at home; a brother, C. A. Clifton, Hollister, and a brother A. A. Clifton, Lawton. She also leaves 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home. Roy Stafford will officiate, and interment will be in the Pecan Cemetery under the direction of St. Clair-Jones. (The Lawton Constitution, Wednesday, June 26, 1929, p. 1).
