Harvey V. Carver, 71 of Hortense died Thursday 14 JUN 2001at his home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Satilla Baptist Church with the Rev. Reggie Herrin and Ben Carver officiating.

Burial will follow at Satilla Cemetery in Hortense.

Pallbearers are Len Davis, Paul Rowell, Chad Carver, Mathew Carver, James Lee Carver and Toby Hutto.

Honorary pallbearers will be the senior adult Sunday school class of Satilla Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends today at Mr. Carver's residence in Hortense.

Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Heluth of Hortense; a son, Clayton Carver of Hortense; a brother, Mack Carver of Hortense; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Carver was a native of Brantley County and a member and former deacon at Satilla Baptist Church. He worked at the shipyard in Brunswick during World War II and was a supervisor in shipping for Georgia-Pacific.

Chambless Funeral Home in Nahunta is in charge of the arrangements.
