AMERICAN FORK, Utah -- Warren W. Rhodes, 74, of American Fork, Utah, passed away peacefully on Friday (Nov. 17, 2006) at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah, surrounded by his wife and children.

Born in Hazleton, Pa., Feb. 7, 1932, and raised in Nuremberg, Pa., he was the son of the late Warren E. and Irene (Berger) Rhodes.

Warren was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a sergeant in the Korean War. He also worked as a ceramic engineer at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill for 38 years. He resided in Raritan for 44 years and had recently moved to American Fork, Utah.

Warren enjoyed bowling and was an active member of the American Bowling Congress. He was a member of both the Somerset County Bowling Hall of Fame and the New Jersey State Bowling Hall of Fame. He served on the board of directors of the county association for many years and was a past president of the Somerset County Bowling Association as well as the New Jersey State Bowling Association.

He is survived by his wife, Claramay H. (Reich) Rhodes; his children, Donald L. Rhodes (Katherine Teichrieb) of East Moline, Ill., Matthew S. Rhodes of Los Angeles, Calif., and Laura E. Rytting (Michael H. Rytting) of Lindon, Utah; two brothers, Donald Rhodes of Somerset and Clyde Rhodes of Nuremberg, Pa.; and five grandchildren.

His funeral will be held 1 p.m. Friday from the Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, Pa. Interment will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. The viewing will be from 11 a.m. until the service time Friday at the funeral home.
