Cecile Catherine (Altic) Anderson was born on Tuesday, May 26, 1914, in Franklin County, Kansas. She was the daughter of William Penn and Sadie Jane (Wray) Altic. She was a lifelong resident of the Pomona and Appanoose area and made her home in rural Pomona, Franklin County, Kansas, until her death on Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the age of ninety-two years.

Cecile graduated from Appanoose High School with the class of 1936. She later attended Business School.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, canning and cooking, and helping her husband with their farm. She loved their family gatherings and immensely enjoyed her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing and playing Bingo. For twenty years, Cecile worked as a seamstress for Mode O'Day in Ottawa, retiring in 1976.

In 1939, Cecile was united in marriage with William "Bill" McKinley. He preceded her in death in October of 1945. On August 12, 1949, Cecile was united in marriage with Robert Anderson in the Altic family home in the Appanoose community. He survives of their home.

She is also survived by two sons, Larry Anderson and his wife, Mary, of Pomona, Kansas, and Bobby Anderson and his wife, Sheila, also of Pomona; three daughters, Willa Lantis and her husband, Gale, of Baldwin, Kansas; Betty Flory and her husband, Wylan, of Pomona; and Shirley Swinehart of Scranton, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her parents; brother, Alfred Altic; sister, Ellen Hirt; great grandson, Mason Anderson and great-great grandson, David Johnson.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2006.

IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Anderson at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Sunday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 Monday evening.

CEMETERY: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Centropolis, Kansas.
