MRS. PAUL M. TSCHETTER
Anna Tschetter nee Mandle was born Sept. 22, 1882, southwest of Bridgewater, S. D. She passed away at the St. Joseph hospital in Mitchell on June 19, 1953, at 12 o'clock noon, attaining the age of 70 years, eight months, and 27 days.
She was united in marriage to Paul M. Tschetter on Dec. 4, 1904. They shared blessings and hardships through 48 and one-half years of married life. This union was blessed with nine children, two of whom preceded her in death.
A great sense of responsibility was put upon her, when as a girl of 14 years she lost her mother. A year later her oldest brother was killed by lightning.
In 1918 she found peace with her Saviour and upon the confession of her faith was baptized in May 1921 by Rev. P. M Tschetter, and united with the Salem KMB church where she remained a faithful member.
She was happy to celebrate her 70th birthday last September with all her children present. Her favorite song was, "God Will Take Care of You."
She underwent an operation on March 23, 1953, from which she never fully recovered. On June 18 complications set in, and she was taken to the hospital. She went into a coma at 5:00 a.m. Friday, never regaining consciousness and passed to her great reward Friday noon, June 19.
She is survived by her deeply bereaved husband; four sons, Jake of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Edmund, Joe, and Paul, all of Bridgewater, S. D.; three daughters, Elizabeth, Mrs. Herman Fluth, Rose, Mrs. Harry Bleeker, and Ruth, Mrs. Harry Hanssen, all of Emery, S. D.; three sons-in-law, four daughters-in-law, 21 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sister, one brother, and a great host of relatives and friends.
