He was born in Wayne Co, GA and had lived in Brantley County all his life. He was the son of the late Dewey Joseph Hickox.
Ronald graduated from Brantley County High School in 1970 and had worked as a Car man with CSX Railroad for 27 years as a Car Inspector.
He was a member of Hickox Baptist Church, International Brotherhood of Railway Carman Local #6508, and was a past member and Deacon at Nahunta First Baptist Church.
Ronald is survived by his son, Landon Hickox of Nahunta, GA, his Mother, Myrtle Knox Hickox of Nahunta, GA; 5 brothers and sisters and their spouses, Myrtis and David Haney , Joseph "Buddy" and Nell Hickox , David and Sue Hickox , Linda and Ken Bishop and Glenn and Cheryl Hickox, all of Nahunta, GA; several special nieces, nephews and other relatives. Former wife, Susan Chambless Hickox, also of Nahunta.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening starting 6 p.m. at Chambless-Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning (Nov. 30, 2006) at 11:00 a.m. from the Nahunta First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Carson, Elder Willis Boyette and Rev. Ray McMillan officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Hickox, GA.
Pallbearers will be Randall Hickox, Keith Bishop, Billy Hickox, Michael Haney, Dustin Morrison, Stetson Vaughn and Ken Clark.
