Melba Juanita Henderson, 65, of the Hickox Community died Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Satilla Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Henderson, a native of Lonoke, Ark., attended Winokur Baptist Church. She had been the owner of the J & J Quik Stop in the Hickox Community.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Winokur Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Manning officiating.

Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, Ned Hendrix, Glen Hendrix, Steve Hendrix and Jackie Tumlin.
Mrs. Henderson's body has been placed in her residence on Caney Bay Road, where the family will receive friends.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Henderson of Nahunta; five children, Pam Strickland and Patricia Crews, both of Hickox, Martha Waddle of Paron, Ark., John Hazeslip of Conway, Ark., and Robert Hazeslip of Brunswick; six stepchildren, Jerry Strickland of Hilliard, Fla., Larry Strickland of Savannah, Tony Henderson of Blackshear and Darrell Henderson, Glen Henderson and Eric Henderson, all of Nahunta; a sister, Earlene Lewis of Lonoke, Ark.; a brother, Bobby Raper of Austin, Ark.; seven grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Joel Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta is in charge of arrangements.
