Albert B. Crews served with the 378 Infantry Regiment and 95th Division during World War II.

Born Mar. 16, 1921, the son of Richard A. and Tene "Vernie" Lowther Crews.

He was killed in action in the France/Belgium area on Nov. 28, 1944.

His body was returned to the United States and was buried at the Bethlehem Cemetery, near Hickox.

PFC Albert B. Crews, son of Mrs. Tena L. Crews, Winokur, has been killed in action in the European Theater of Operations, it was announced this week by the War Department. Details of action in which the young soldier lost his life has not been made public. Mrs. Crews was notified several weeks ago that her son had been killed and it is presumed that he fell in the f ighting of Northern France or Belgium. The family of the soldier lived just across the Charlton County line in Brantley County but has been identified with this county, the young man having attended school in Folkston. He was a member of one of the most widely-connected families of the Winokur district. Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Jesse Crews and Jimmie Crews as well as five sisters.
