Robert "Bronco" Steuck, 69, of Dubuque, was born to eternal life on Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at his home.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mark Ressler celebrating Mass and Archbishop Jerome Hanus concelebrating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a prayer service at 3 p.m.

He was born on April 12, 1939, in Dubuque, son of Ralph and Marie (Kohn) Steuck. He graduated from Loras Academy in 1957.

He married Kathleen "Kay" Ryan on Sept. 26, 1959, at St. Joseph's the Prairie Church, rural Dubuque.

Bob was employed with John Deere Dubuque Works for 34 years, retiring in 1992. He was a proud member of the United Auto Workers Local 94. After his retirement, Bob worked part time at Timberline Golf Course.

He was a member and supporter of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Dubuque.

Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing many different golf courses. Bob and Kay played in a couple's golf league for many years at Timberline. He took great joy in spending time with family and friends by playing euchre, going fishing and attending sporting events. Bob was a "self-appointed Grill Master" at any cook-out or tailgate and was a loyal Cubs, Hawkeyes and Bears fan. Bob dearly loved his wife of 49 years, his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with all of them.

Surviving are his wife, Kay, of Dubuque; two daughters, Robin Foley and Kim (Rick) Colpitts, both of Dubuque; a son, Dan (Carla) Steuck, of Hinsdale, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Christopher Foley, Mandy, Josh and Kaylen Colpitts and Carly, Devin and Morgan Steuck; a brother, Don "Tiger" (Pat) Steuck, of Dubuque; a sister, Diane (Roger) Klinzman, of Dubuque; special friends, Lonnie and Kathy Steger, of Dubuque; and many family members, including several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, and of course his beloved dog, Cubbie.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Tommy John, in 1966; his son-in-law, Dave Foley; and his parents, Ralph and Marie Steuck.
