Dr. Joel D. Maupin, died at his home in Washington, 112 W. Fourth Street, Wednesday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock, after an illness of two weeks. Dr. Maupin, beloved husband of Tena Maupin, was one of Washington's most prominent citizens and was born on November 21, 1871, on a farm in Franklin County about seven miles west of Washington. He received his education and grew to young manhood in that vicinity. Early in his youth, he decided to take up the practice of medicine. He attended the Cincinnati E.M.I. Medical College of Cincinnati, Ohio, from which he graduated in 1898, and then began his practice in this city forty years ago.
