Excerpt--age 86, of Kingwood, died Monday at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 1864, in this county, s/o the late James and Mary Hanaway Shay. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bertha Reese Shay; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Anderson of Kingwood; two sons, Gerald of Morgantown and Darle at home; two sisters, Mrs. Della Newcome of Kingwood and Mrs. Ella Fletcher of Washington, D.C. Two sons preced him in death. Burial was in Shay's Chapel Cemetery.
