Sherry and her brother Kenneth Everett Irons, Jr. were only able to see each other a few hours each year, as Kenneth's grandmother, Alta Faye Harris Elliott did not drive or own a car.
When Kenneth was discharged from the Navy in Winter of 1965/Spring of 1966 he lived with them in Middlegrove for three months prior to his returning to California.
Melvin and Sherry passed away within the same month, and both are interred in Oak ridge Cemetery in Farmington, Fulton, Il.
