Hattie A. Smith, 90, of Marseilles, Ill. died Saturday 1-May 1976 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home in Ottawa, Ill.
Services will be at Seals-Campbell Chapel, Marseilles on Tuesday at 2:00pm. Rev. Thomas Lowery of the Marseilles Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Marseilles.
Hattie Alida Burkhart was born on 11-Sept. 1885 in Marseilles, the oldest daughter of Charles N. and Alida V. (Morgan) Burkhart. She married Edward F. Smith on 20-Oct. 1904. He died in 1942.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Virginia I. Emmons of Dowagiac, Mich.; a step-son, Earl of Dwight, Ill.; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; a brother, Oliver M. Burkhart, of Moline, Ill.; and sisters, Mrs. Julia M. Campbell of East Moline, Ill., Mrs. Blanche E. Kilgore of Albany, Ill., and Mrs. Emma F. Speck of Peoria, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F.; a daughter, Florence E. in 1936; an infant sister, Olive L. Burkhart in 1892; and a brother, James "Horace" Burkhart in 1953.
