A native of Brantley County, he had worked in pulpwood and was of the Baptist faith. His parents were Nolan Crews and Rhonda Mae Turner Crews.
Survivors are his wife, Idella Wood Crews of Blackshear; four children, Josephine Wood of Offerman, Wanda Sue Chancey (Timmy), Monroe Crews (Anndea) and Lorie Jorgensen (Paul), all of Blackshear; six grandchildren, Shannon Bridges, Tim Chancey, Jessica Crews, Tracy and Lacie Jorgensen, and Taylor Kirkland; two stepdaughters, Jan Kirkland and Tonya Smith, both of Blackshear; an aunt, Pearlie Lewis of Brunswick; special friends, Dawn Cox, Jinx and Dinky Byrd and Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Roberson; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, in the New Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.
Pallbearers were Jim Woodard, Tim Woodard, Framan Crews, Cordell Wainright, Gene Lewis, Clyde Crews and Robert Johns
