Nellie M. Sigg of 511 S. Colburn died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City at the age of 82. She was born June 3, 1915, on a farm between Moran and LaHarpe, the daughter of Milton B. and Nellie M. Miller Allen.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and Altar Society. On May 8, 1933, she married Victor H. Sigg. They made their home on a
farm northwest of Iola. In 1940, they moved into Iola. He died Oct. 28, 1981.
She is survived by eight sons, Don, John, Vic, Herb, Dan, Jerry, and Steve, Iola, and Ron of Bentonville, Arkansas; four daughters, Elsie Galemore and Mary Fudge of Iola, Helen McNabb of Waco, Texas, and Pat Griffith of Salina; three sisters, Leona Kennedy of St. Paul, Agnes Allen of Pittsburgh and Mary Jo Hartwell of Parsons; 47 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Paul and David, and four brothers, Merle, Leo, Ed and Milton Allen, died earlier.
Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Leon Kristine will officiate. Burial will be at St.Joseph Cemetery in Humboldt.
Rosary will be recited today at 7 p.m. at St. John'S. Waugh Hokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. (The Iola Register, Monday, February 9, 1998)
