Friends may call from 8:30 to 10 a.m. today at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at the mortuary's chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Kahre officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
Mrs. Bates was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Colorado Springs to Leslie M. and Dolly (Williams) Lewis.
She was married to Robert D. Bates, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Harold of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Cindy Baker of New Mexico and Bonnie of Colorado Springs; a brother, Leslie M. Lewis of Colorado Springs; and five grandchildren. Her brother, Raymond Lewis, is deceased.
Mrs. Bates had been a lifelong Colorado Springs resident.
