David was a straight-A student and was currently attending 7th grade at Glenwood Middle School and he was formerly a student at Urbana Elementary and Middle Schools. He was in many magnet classes. He enjoyed learning and loved to be challenged. David was a huge sports fan. He loved the New England Patriots. His mom took him and his siblings to the New England Patriots Training Camp this year. David enjoyed playing football in the yard with Megan, Brandon and the neighbor kids. He also loved to play games on his PS2, especially Guitar Hero. His favorite foods included spaghetti and pizza. One thing David did not like was chocolate.
On November 22, 2007, David Brockdorff murdered his family, and then himself. He shot his wife, 43-year-old Gail, dead. He then shot all three of his children dead: David (12), Megan (10) and Brandon (7) Afterwards, he killed himself.
