SMSgt. Grady V. Brantley, USAF Retired

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Grady V. Brantley, 80, died January 28, 2009, at his winter home in Salida.

He was born April 22, 1928, in Alma. He served in World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was awarded the Bronze Star for his Vietnam service.

Grady enjoyed life as an avid fisherman, hunter, traveler, walker, bicyclist and loved spending time with his grandkids. He never met a stranger and will truly be missed.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Brantley; sons, Scott (Murial) Brantley, Grady (Donna) Brantley Jr., Mark (Julie) Brantley; daughter, Cynthia (Tony) Ingersoll; brother, Eugene T. (Edna) Brantley; sister, Frances Turner; seven grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kari Brantley and niece, Monica Wehner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mae and George Brantley and brothers, George M. Brantley Jr. and James E. Brantley.

A celebration of life for friends and family will be held sometime in April. Donations to the Salida Senior Day Care, P.O. Box 769, Salida 81201 can be made in lieu of flowers.

Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home, Salida.
