Amy Ann Marble was born February 14, 1826 at Huntsburg, Geauga County, Ohio to Nathaniel Marble and Mary or (Polly) King. The Marble family left Ohio and settled in Nauvoo, Illinois by 1844. While in Nauvoo, Amy Ann met Lorenzo Babcock and they were married in 1844 at Nauvoo, Hancock County, Illinois.
Along with her husband she crossed the frozen Mississippi River when the Latter-day Saints left Nauvoo,
They began to send teams across the ice in the morning. A son George Babcock was born to Lorenzo and Anna Babcock. Sadly, little George Babcock would die August 9, 1847 in Winter Quarters. Lorenzo would be away serving in the Mormon Battalion at the time of his son's death.
At 6 p.m. the temperature was twenty-one degrees and some fine hail fell."

For a number of years the Babcock family lived near the Sevier River, in Utah and other areas of the state of Utah. Then they moved to Price, Carbon County, Utah In 1859. Amy Ann died in September of 1862 from complications of childbirth. She was thirty-six years of age at the time. She is buried in the Price City Cemetery, Carbon County, Utah.
When Lorenzo reached the age of sixty, he was granted a pension for services in the Battalion. He received $36.00 every three months. His first check was for $450.00. He spent most of that prospecting northeast of Mona, Utah.
