The funeral was to have been at 2 p.m. today at the Nahunta Church of God with the Revs. Charles Florey and Jack Barber officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in the Hickox community of Brantley County.
Pallbearers are Toby Crews, Robert Thomas, Bob Palms, Ernest Hickox Jr., Jamie Crews and Joey Crews.
Honorary pallbearers are Wilton Herrin, Archie Crews, and Chris Beasley, the Men of the Nahunta Church of God, and all former employees of B&W Steel.
Surviving are his wife, Alene Crews Hickox of Nahunta; two daughters, Barbara Ann McLaughlin of Salisbury, N.C., and Annette Chesser of Nahunta; one sister, Tula Wainright of Nahunta; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Hickox was a native of Wayne County and lived in Nahunta. He was a fitter for B&W Steel, local union No. 901, for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Nahunta Church of God.
