Burial record in the sexton's ledger says N. Web. Pittman was born in Girard, AL, died age 71 at residence in Girard, AL, of heart trouble and buried December 27, 1917 in the Old Cemetery. The sexton was Emory Jefferson. Margin notes say C.S.A., Company F, 3rd Regiment, Georgia Reserves

Daniel Olds made an index of deaths August 1890 thru December 1918 from Muscogee County municipal records. It says N. W. Pittman, male, White, died age 71 on December 21, 1917

Pittman (34 GA SC SC), married, works in cotton mill; sister Narcissa Pittman (46 GA SC SC), single, seamstress; sister a href="Caroline Pittman (44 GA SC SC), single, at home; sister Sarah Pittman (42 GA SC SC), single, works in cotton mill; nephew Thomas Martin (7 AL AL GA), wife Leuella Pittman (27 GA GA GA), married, keeping house; daughter Mattie (4 AL GA GA); and son Webb W. Pittman (1 AL GA GA). I think this son could possibly be the same as William Pittman, who was buried December 5, 1903, age 25, born in Girard, Ala., resided there and died of a gunshot wound there (Olds list says W. Pittman died Nov. 4, 1903)

(48, born Jan 1852 GA NC UNK), married 25 years, had 7 children (6 still living); son Charlie (17, born May 1883 AL GA GA), clerk in brewery; son Clifford (14, born Oct. 1885 AL GA GA), at school; son Cecie (9, born Oct. 1890 AL GA GA) at school.

MR. N. W. PITTMAN
Mr. N. W. Pittman, age 71, died at his home, 212 Broad street, Girard, at 8:30 this morning, after an illness of nearly three years with a complication of diseases, heart failure being the direct cause of his death.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. E. P. Coulter, of Columbus, and Mrs. Walter B. Allen, of Girard, three sons, Chas. W. and Cecil H. Pittman, of Savannah, and H. C. Pittman of Girard.
He was a confederate veteran, serving in Company F, Third Georgia reserves throughout the war.
He was a member of the Creek Tribe I.O.R.M. and had been a Justice of the Peace in Girard for a great number of years.
The funeral arrangements have not been made yet.
