The funeral for Eileen H. Richardson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview, with the Rev. Chuck Coggins officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Plainview.

Eileen Helen Richardson, 94, formerly of Elgin and Plainview, died Wednesday (Feb. 4, 2009) at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in Rochester. She had been a resident of Samaritan Bethany for eight years.

Born Eileen Zabel on June 11, 1914, in Elgin, she attended Elgin parochial and community schools. In 1939, she married Leonard Schwanke, and they lived in Plainview. They later divorced. On Oct. 16, 1971, she married Marvin Richardson in Plainview. Mr. Richardson died in 1986.

For the past 20 years she had resided in Rochester, and was retired from Rochester Methodist Hospital after several years of service. She enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include a daughter, Faith Ann Bothun of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn (Trudy) Zabel of Elgin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; a son; her parents, Gustave and Otelia (Ponto) Zabel; and a sister.

Friends may call an hour before the service at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home.
