John Rex Poulson, age 86, died on October 23, 1999 in Sandy, Utah due to complications following surgery.


Born March 3, 1913 in Richfield, Utah to James C. and Sarah Anna Robinson Poulson.


He married Merle Spafford on June 24, 1936 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. John served in the National Guard and worked at Remington Arms Navy Supply Depot and retired from the U.S. Forest Service. An all around athlete, Rex enjoyed sports and was a true sportsman.


Survived by his wife, Merle; children, Darlene Riddle, Gary (Patty), John (Sandy), Doug (Paula), Cal (Kathy); 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Devon, Kenneth, Glen; and sisters, Ila, Barbara, and Anna Lou. Preceded in death by parents, and one granddaughter.


Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 East.
Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Following the graveside service, family and friends are welcome to join the family for a celebration of Rex's life at the Mount Jordan 7th Ward Chapel at 235 East 9800 South.
