Linda Chinn Brown (1944-2009)

Linda Chinn Brown, 64, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at her residence.

The Ashland, Ky., native was born Sept. 9, 1944, the daughter of the late Carl W. and Dora L. Ritter Chinn.

Linda's accomplishments other than being a wonderful mother and grandmother was her employment with Gibson Brothers Furniture for 12 years. She was an interior designer at Ethan Allen College and was employed at Ethan Allen in Barboursville, W.Va., until the store closed. She was presented awards as second top salesperson in the United States in New York, and following that she worked part time at Zales Jewelry in Barboursville. During her short time of retirement, she enjoyed her family and was a huge football and basketball fan. She is now with her Savior and loved ones who went before her. She will be sorely missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra L. Chinn Laber, and a granddaughter, Haylee Dale Henderson.

She is survived by her former husband, Dale L. Brown of Ironton; a son and daughter-in-law, Bud D. Brown and Tonya of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Sherri Lezu of Chesapeake, Ohio; a son, Allan Brown of South Carolina; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelli Morris and Bob of South Point; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Brown, Hunter Brown, Lendon Lezu, Wesley Lezu, Lindsay Henderson and Alexandra Morris, whom she loved very much; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Skeeter Scherer Zeller and Jack of Ashland, Carla Chinn Abrams and Don of Greenup, Ky., and Debra Riffe of Greenup; a brother, David B. Chinn of Cleveland, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, Jeremy Riffe, Jack E. Riffe, Chance Michael Riffe, Chad Abrams, Brianna Chinn, David Chinn, Cody Chinn, Levi Chinn, Hannah Chinn, Kimberly Johnson and her husband, Harold, and Michelle Cumbee and her husband, Clay; and great-nieces and great-nephews Hunter and Shelby Riffe, Braxton and Conner Abrams, Ellie and Jake Johnson and Brandon and Cassandra Cumbee.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, Ohio, with Pastor James Webster officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
