Donald was the son of Edward & Allene Margaret (Adams) Evans of Missouri. His family moved to Birmingham, Michigan where he graduated from Baldwin High School. He lived all of his adult life in Birmingham. He served in the US Navy from 1950-1954. He is predeceased by his parents and his son, Donald II. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sisters; his daughter, Kim (Tony) Yarbrough, and two grandchildren
