Bertha H. George, born December 5, 1918 to Harry H. and Carla H. Moore, passed away on October 26, 2008 in Winnemucca, Nevada where she had resided for the last several years. She was born and raised in Rifle, Colorado. She attended the Rifle Schools and graduating from Rifle High School. On April 23, 1936, she was married to Alfred W. George. They had four sons, Marlin, Tony, Thomas and Richard. After their marriage, they lived and farmed in Antlers, Colorado with his parents. They moved to Meeker, Colorado in 1955 where they ran the Meeker Feed Store. They sold out and moved to North Pole, Alaska in 1962. After their retirement, they moved to Kingman, Arizona in 1976. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred and son, Richard Neal George. She is survived by three sons, Marlin (Sally); Tony, and Thomas H. (Ilene) and widow of Richard (Velvet); 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; also a niece, Carolin Sammons. Funeral services are planned for Monday, November 3, at 1:00 p.m. at the Rifle Funeral Home. Interment will follow immediately at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle.
