"The funeral of Jesse Hartsock, once a resident of this city, whose death occured at Spencerville Monday evening will be held at Willshire today, the interment to be made in the David Smith Cemetery, three miles east of town. Mr. Hartsock was about 70 years old, and had been sick many months with dropsy. He was a brother of Mrs. L. Banta of Willshire and of Charles Hartsock of Ohio City."

"Jesse Hartsock, a former resident of this town, is dead of dropsy at his home at Spencerville. He was related to the Detter, Casto and Eyler families and had many friends in this county. The remains will be laid to rest tomorrow, at Smith Cemetery, in Willshire Township."
