LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Services for Marjorie Opal Vance will be held Friday at noon at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Moore officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Vance of Little Rock went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009. A long-time resident of Meridian, Miss., she lived in retirement in Little Rock with her husband, Jack. Mrs. Vance was born in 1923, to James and Rebecca Ezell and grew up in Union, Miss. She and Mr. Vance lived and raised their family in Meridian. She loved her family and all her many relations and friends, and was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She adored her grandchildren. Mrs. Vance was an especially supportive church member of Highland and Poplar Springs Methodist churches in Meridian and Asbury Methodist of Little Rock. Survivors include her son, Wayne Vance and his wife, Beth, and daughter, Dana, of Alexandria, Va.; her daughter, Cathy Byars and her husband, Russell; and her son, John Connor McInnis and daughter, Maudie McInnis, of Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Jack Vance; three brothers, George, Aubrey and Barto; and three sisters, Margaret Olga, Myrtle and Beatrice. Memorials may be made to the Robert Moore Bible Class, Asbury Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley Drive, Little Rock, Ark., 72212, (501)225-9231. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to services at the funeral home.
