The daughter of John & Jemima (Hurlburt) Blackman, she married James Benedict, Jr. on May 8, 1740.
After her father's death in 1732, Mary chose Ephraim Jackson to be her guardian. In 1761, Mary & James Benedict conveyed their rights to a homelot that belonged to her father to Nathaniel Whitehead.

The Genealogy of the Benedicts of America by Henry Benedict, states that Rev. James Benedict, Jr. & his first first wife are buried in the Old Baptist Cemetery in Warwick, NY and there are no tombstones remaining.
