Jean Camp was born in Polk County, the daughter of the late Luke A. and Myrtle Ruth Hindman Chapman. She has been retired since 1985. She has lived in the Villa Rica area since moving from Dalton in 1969. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, the Red Hat Society and the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Billy Chapman.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Thomas Camp, her children Judy Richardson, Steve Shepard and Tomasina Camp Heide, all of Villa Rica; three sisters, Betty Murphy of Carrollton, Sandra Goff and Linda Mullis of Dalton; three brothers, Bobby, Terry and Tommy Chapman all of Dalton; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of Villa Rica.

Funeral services will be held April 11, 2004 in the Chapel of J Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with burial in Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
