"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness…." II Timothy 4:7&8
Kimberly was born on June 11, 1972, to Roger Green Nowling and Betty Sue Hawthorne Nowling. She lived her early years in Jay, attending school and church in Jay.
Kimberly spent many days playing on the family farms with her brother Kipp and her cousins. She was the only granddaughter to Jewel and Frank Nowling.
Kimberly attended Bagdad First Assembly of God Church where she was a member of the Ladies Prayer Group, which she enjoyed dearly.
While in High School, she met the love of her life, Connie Edward Helms, II. They dated through the years, with many of their first "dates" being spent at her future father in laws funeral home in Jay (Helms Funeral Home) with Connie while he worked visitations.
Kimberly went to work for Walmart in the Jewelry Department, and worked in Milton and in Brewton for 13 years. She was Manager of the Jewelry Department. She and Connie married in 1992. After a few years, she and Connie reopened his mothers flower shop (Helms Florist) and renamed it Heavenly Creations, after their love for each other, which they knew to be a Heavenly Creation directly from God. They started working out of their home on Rocky Shores, and in 1999 they moved the business to its present location in the old Stewart Home on Canal Street, right down the road from the original Helms Florist and Helms Funeral Home. Kimberly and Connie have worked side by side for many years, loving each other and their jobs, and it always showed in the details that they put into the arrangements, weddings, and care that they have given to their customers over the years.
