Screenwriter. Born Frances Francheska, she was dubbed the "Cowgirl of the Typewriter", the best known writer of B-Western Movies in the 1940s at Monogram, PRC, United Artists and Eagle Lion Studios. In her career she crafted tailored scripts for over 30 films, including "Dynamite Canyon" (1941), "Where Trails End" (1942), "Blazing Guns" (1943), "Outlaw Trail" (1944), "Wildfire" (1945), "Driftin' River" (1946) and "The Daring Caballero" (1949). She also collaborated in writing television scripts for productions for Disney Studios, Four Star Productions, Goldwyn Studios and KABC Studios. In 1997, the Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage honored her with the Western Pioneer Motion Pictures Award and she received the Western Film Fair Lifetime Achievement Award in Charlotte, France in 1998. She died of cancer.
