Cecil McDonald, Jr. 88, former longtime Mexia businessman and rancher, passed away July 8, 2016 in Groesbeck, Texas. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, July 11, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia with Rev. Tracy Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.
Cecil was born October 27, 1927 in Tehuacana Valley to Cecil McDonald, Sr. and Susie Black. In addition to owning and operating laundromats in Mexia and Groesbeck, he maintained a cattle ranch in Shiloh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billie Gene McDonald; and sister, Lizzie Mae Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda McDonald of Groesbeck; son, Bobby McDonald and wife, Becky, of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Ginger Renee McDonald Funk and husband, Brad, and Jeffrey Keith McDonald; great-grandchildren, Emery, Ellis, Alyssa, and Kimbrey; and sister, Patsy Lock of Beaumont.
