Mrs. McKinley was born September 25, 1886 in England and came to New York in 1889 with her parents Mr. John W. Hardy and Mrs. Alice Ann Hardy. Who moved to Divide where they operated the Hardy House Hotel. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1895 where she attended local schools. She wed Daniel Emmer McKinley and in 1906 welcomed their daughter Verna. Then they had five sons: Harold W and Harry E (twins 1908) Daniel Roy (1920) and Robert C and John C McKinley. In her passing she was a resident of the Myron Stratton Home and she passed away at 86 on October 4, 1973.
