G Grandpa was gone before I was a thought. I do remember my grandmother always being sad through the Holidays. She lost so many in her family around the Holidays
In 1948 Christmas morning, everyone had opened their presents. G Grandpa didn't feel good so went to take a nap. When someone went to wake him up, he was gone. My Aunt who just recently died this year speaks very well of her Daddy. From the accounts of others, I am hearing more and more that the Drake side of the family were the calm ones. Very soft spoken, hard working and family oriented. Very Firm with their children, but never having to raise their voice...How'd they ever do that? :)
