Davenport, Wash.
Service for Mildred M. (Dunning) Mangis, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will follow at the Creston (Wash.) Cemetery. Mrs. Mangis, who was born in Creston died Monday. She graduated from Creston High School in 1926. Mrs. Mangis received a teaching certificate and taught in rural schools in Wilson Creek, Creston and Hunters, Wash. In 1931 she married Orville Mangis, and they lived in Wilson Creek. They operated a cattle ranch until they moved back to Creston to operate the Mangis cattle ranch. They retired in the early 1970s. She and her husband moved to the Clear Lake area before moving to Davenport in 1992. Survivors include her husband; a son, Gary Mangis of Creston; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Creston Cemetery Endowment Care Fund, Creston, WA 99117.
