Gary Alapert was born August 1, 1962 to Norman and Marie (Kaarto) Alapert. Nonny graduated in 1981 from Ontonagon High School. After graduation, he moved to Lower Michigan and worked in the construction industry hanging dry wall. Nonny moved back to the area in 1996 to assist with the care of his parents.
Nonny loved to fish and camp, enjoying the outdoors in general. He played the guitar and enjoyed listening to music. Nonny loved spending time with family and friends.
He was survived by his mother Marie of Mass City, daughter Samantha Alapert of Farmington Hills, siblings Norman "Butch" Alapert, David "Dobs" Alapert, Judy Idol all of Ontonagon, Bob Alapert (Deb) of Livonia and Terry of Fenton and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nonny Alapert was preceded in death by his father Norm Alapert.
