Statement from Genealogy.com
Research by Sharon Cochran: "Joseph Bollin born b. 1800-1807 in Achdorf-Weich Baden, Ann's mother was Agnes Haire, born in Baden. Their marriage date was "October 28, 1819, in Baden, German-Katholisch Achdorf Walshut". The children of Joseph and Agnes Haire were John, Gotlieb, Frederick, Martin, Jacob, Francis, Elizabeth, Mathew, Mary and Anna Gertrude.

The Bollin family went first in 1856, to Cincinnati, Ohio. Agnes Haire died before 1856, and is buried in or near Cincinnati. Joseph went with the children to Nauvoo, (previously called Commerce), Hancock County, IL. before 1860. The July 6, 1860 Census shows Joseph Bowlin, a Grocery keeper, in Appanooce Township, Hancock County, IL., living with Jacob, 16 and Fredrick, 24 - 3 families from son John. (FHL-1803 184, pg. 312, Dwel. 2800." Navoo was a town of around 1,100 in western IL. on the Mississippi River, about 200 miles north of St. Louis, MO. Joseph Bollin married Mrs. Amy Susannah (Keim) Fryfogle July 28, 1862, in Navoo, submitted August 5, 1862, to the County Clerk C. E. Gates. Mrs. Keim was born in PA. They are in the 1870 Census in Hancock County, IL. Joseph is listed as Vine Keeper (?), and she is Keeping House. Joseph died October 1, 1882 in Navoo. Bollins still live there.

I have searched in the National Archives and in Filby's Immigrants to America, and Roger Graus and John Barron have searched in volumes of Filby's Germans to America without finding the ships for Conrad or the Bollin family. We are still searching for the year/s or ship/s on which each immigrated. They may have landed at New Orleans, LA. and traveled up the Mississippi River. There are no records to substantiate that.
