In Loving
Remembrance Of
Our Mother
On June, 29, 1956, the death
angels visited and took our dear
mother, Mrs. W. W. Ray. How,
we miss her and calling us by
our name. When carried, to the
hospital, after a stroke, she
looked up and smiled at me "as
to say, children don't worry, I
am read and prepared to go.
She took, her pain and suffering
so calm and contented. She was
loved by every one that knew her.
She had a smile for everyone
she met. She loved her
neighbors and friends and was
always glad to see them come in.
Before they would leave, she
would ask them to have prayer.
She was always talking to her
children the way to live.
So dear brother, and sisters just
all live to meet her on the
other shore,
Where there will be no parting
forever more.
Dark are the windows, no flickering
glow.
Light up the old home that we
used to know.
But in the darkness a sweet face
so fair,
Smiles down from heaven, for
Mother is there.
Oft when the shadow of eveningtide
fall,
I seem to hear her voice tenderly
calling.
In words familiar, "Let's come
now to pray."
I kneel in reverence and mother
is there.
O how I miss her sweet voice and
her smile,
Yet I shall see her again after
while,
With our dear Savior, I know.
she will wait
With a glad welcome just inside
the gate.
She was a little old fashioned,
She stayed closely at home,
So calm and contented
All the others may roam.
And since it is God's holy will
We must be parted for awhile
In sweet submission all in one
We'll say, "Our Father's will,
be done."
Soon we'll meet again dear moth-
And you'll take us by our hand.
Soon you'll press us to your bosom
Over in the promised, land.
Then we'll be at home forever
Thru out all eternity.
What a blessed, blessed morning
That eternal morn will be.
Written by her daughter, Mrs.
Weldon (Donnie) Owen.
