Mary Lucille Johns Proctor, 91, (b. 16 Sep 1908), of Nahunta, died Monday (26 Jun 2000) at the Satilla Care Center in Waycross.

The funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Hoboken, with the Revs J. L Rowan and Willis Boyette officiating. Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery. The body was placed in the church one hour before the funeral.

The family received friends at the Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home.

Surviving are four daughter, Jewel Hutcheson of Nahunta, Faye Hall of Lake Park, Kate Manor of Hickox, and Iris Sloan of Hortense; two sons, Hubert Proctor of Brunswick, and James Kicie Proctor of Portland, OR; a brother, R. E. "Rep" Johns of Nahunta; a sister, Ruth Crawford of Waycross; 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Proctor was a native and lifelong resident of Brantley County. She was the daughter of the late Owen Peter "Pete" Johns and Lola Raulerson Johns. She was also preceded in death by by her husband, Johns Royce "Jr." Proctor. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mars Hills Primitive Baptist Church.
