Samuel Howard Sellers was a son of Jerome Howard Brown Sellers and and Margaret Rebecca Bell Sellers.

Samuel Howard Sellers married first to Clara May Bruce on November 20, 1895 in Winterset, Madison, Iowa. They had six children.

Samuel Howard Sellers married second to Frances A. Cullen on August 11, 1920.

"Together with brothers William Arthur Sellers and John Newton Sellers, Samuel left Virginia in the mid-1890s and settled near Winterset in Madison County, Iowa.
Married Clara May Bruce in "Winterset, and they remained there until early 1910 when Samuel relocated the family to Mt. Vernon in Davison County, South Dakota."
"Samuel Howard Sellers remained on the farm he purchased just outside of Mt. Vernon for the remainder of his days. Upon his death in 1940 at the age of 75, the farm was inherited by his oldest child and son, Jerome Bruce Sellers."
