VIDALIA, TOOMBS COUNTY, GEORGIA - Mr. Earl Williamson, age 83 of Vidalia, died Sunday, February 01, 2009 after an extended illness. He was a native of Oak Park and moved to Toombs County in the late 1940's. He was the owner and operator of Williamson Beverage Center in Vidalia, during World War II; he supported the wartime efforts by assisting in ship building activities in Savannah, and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and took great enjoyment in providing for them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Brown Williamson in 2007, and a son, Edward " Shugi " Williamson in 1985. He is survived by one daughter, Teresa and Al Wheeler of Vidalia; four sons, Irving and David Williamson of Lyons; Don and Albina Williamson of Brunswick; and Gerald and Sue Williamson of Kennesaw; one sister, Doris and Aubrey Burnette of Fayetteville; one brother, Howell and Ruth Williamson, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Don Moye officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00. Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.
