She was born June 13, 1913 to Bertha Olive Atkins and Joseph Rolfe Tuddenham in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Olive was raised on a ranch in the northwest corner of Cache Valley near Newton, Utah. She graduated from Stevens Henager Business College and worked for the Agricultural Adjustment Administration in Logan Utah. She married Alma Evan Western on August 7, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. Evan preceded her in death on May 21, 1993.
She is survived by children, Marilyn Baughman (James), Eileen Kraczek (Stan), Edward Evan (Sheryl), Dorothy Nielsen (Larry), Janet Dover (Glen), foster daughter Shirley Clarke (Al), 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Preceded in death by sister, Evelyn McKinnon and brother, Rolfe Tuddenham.
She loved her family and remembered each family member on birthdays and on special events. She enjoyed sewing and playing the piano, and taught her girls to do the same. Olive made quilts for all her grand babies. She liked to share her bread making and gardening abilities with her family and friends.
She worked to make sure family histories were passed on. Olive loved the gospel and served in numerous callings in the LDS church including serving as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Rose Park 6th LDS Ward Chapel, 1155 North 1200 West. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday at the Church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment: Hinckley City Cemetery.
