FUNERAL SERVICE FOR MRS. LAVINIA REGISTER

Charlotte, Oct. 11. -- Funeral services were held today at the Tryon Street Methodist church for Mrs. Lavinia Montgomery Register, daughter of the late Judge W. J. Montgomery, of Concord, and widow of Dr. E. C. Register, of Charlotte. Mrs. Register died suddenly of apoplexy at 7 o'clock Saturday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Sherrill in Concord, the latter her sister.

Mrs. Register had been in failing health for a year. She went to Concord several days ago to attend the D. A. R. meeting, and over-excitement was thought to have hastened the stroke.

Mrs. Register was born October 23, 1863. She was a charter member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, and Daughters of the American Revolution, and a devoted worker in Tryon Street Methodist church. She and Mr. Register came to Charlotte to live 38 years ago. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. John B. Sherrill, of Concord, and her brother, Dr. J. C. Montgomery of Charlotte.
